描述題目中的現(xiàn)象以及描述圖表中的數(shù)據(jù)
(1)Good handwriting seems to lose its charm - that’s what a recent survey on high school students say about the younger generation’s opinion. As the popularity of computers rises, teachers, parents and students themselves are attaching less importance to handwriting. Over half of the interviewees wouldn’t like to improve their handwriting because they can type on computers. Another 32.3% attributed their unwillingness to their lack of time for practices. 10.9% of the surveyed even think it’s pointless to write characters better.
說明自己的觀點和看法
(2)While they’re not surprising, the results are really worrying. (注意和上一段的銜接)It’s true that typing on computers, smartphones and tablets is very convenient, but even if most of the writing tasks are now electronic, paper based writing is still necessary for many business and academic settings. Students write their answers to test problems with pens, not keyboards; workmates exchange thoughts and express ideas on handwritten notes. Handwriting, if not reader-friendly, can cost students the chance of entering their desired colleges or cause trouble in a key project of a company. As an old Chinese saying goes, “Reading one’s handwriting is like meeting him in person.” Handwriting also gives others vital first impressions of ourselves, which can mean the difference between success and failure.
(3)What’s more, as students pay less attention to their handwriting, they are losing the time-honored art of Chinese characters. Passed down from generation to generation, each character tells a beautiful tale of the nation’s yesterday, today and tomorrow. Not only are the written words channels of communication, but they also carry much cultural weight worthy of our attention and appreciation.
