應用文寫作(One possible version)
Dear Eric,
I'm writing to advise that an interest class of Chinese poetry should be opened in our school.
Firstly, there are many students who are fond of Chinese poetry in our school, so they hope to set up a special class where they can get professional instruction. Secondly, students can tell similarities and differences between Chinese poetry and Western poetry, which will help them have a thorough understanding of poetry. Lastly, it can also enrich students' school life and improve their appreciation ability.
Looking forward to your early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua

Paragraph 1:
I looked at the phone and just couldn't believe it. I mean, I was in Houston International Airport that houses many different airlines, serving tens of thousands of customers daily. When you lose something like a cellphone at a place like that, you can feel it impossible to get it back and it will be gone forever. For a few seconds, I didn't know what to say, just sitting there puzzled. I even forgot to say thanks to her.
Paragraph 2:
She said a gentleman picked up my cellphone. He happened to answer my dad's call and got my name and flight number, then took time off of his busy travel schedule and went to the gate. He gave my cellphone to the flight attendant to return to me. That cellphone was my only way of getting in touch with everyone I care about, which at the time I thought was the last time. Fortunately, that stranger did me a huge favor that day, and I am very thankful, even to this day.
