This is my first day in Ethiopia. Having dinner here was really unforgettable. My uncle took me to visit a local friend of his. We were served something called injera, which looked like a big pancake. It’s actually a kind of local bread which is meant to be eaten with our hands. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. I followed the others to tear off a small piece of injera and use it to get some food. People are supposed to eat injera with their hands instead of chopsticks, forks or knives. What’s more, it’s impolite to lick fingers during the meal since everyone eats the same injera.
I found it a little difficult at first, but I soon got used to it.
